To enroll in a PADI Open Water Diver course or Junior Open Water Diver course, you must be 10 years old or older. You need adequate swimming skills and need to be in good physical health. No prior experience with scuba diving is required.
The course consists of 3 segments: 5 lessons of theory, 5 dives in confined waters and 4 dives at the sea or lake.
- During the lessons, you will learn the dive theory through viewing the PADI videos and completing some quiz, followed by a final exam.
- In diving in confined waters (usually swimming pool) you will experience your first breath underwater and practice some underwater skills in a controlled environment.
- In diving in free waters you will combine and apply, in a real diving environment, how much you have learned in developing knowledge and diving in confined water.

Upon completion of the course you will receive the PADI Open Water Diver certification. A worldwide recognition that allows you to dive at a maximum depth of 18 meters.
The course fee includes the PADI Open Water kit (PADI Open Water manual, log book, video and stickers); certification, diving in confined water and free water and the use of all underwater equipment, with the exception of personal equipment (for example swimsuit).
